Hospital information - discussion event for hospital staff
Event for Surrey professionals to discuss and suggest improvements on the hospital information unpaid carers receive, especially around hospital processes.
Hospital information – what helps unpaid carers?
Burpham, Guildford, Monday 29th April 11am-midday – light lunch provided
How can we ensure carers have the best experience in hospitals, when supporting their loved one? Join our session to share your views as a Surrey professional.
We are inviting staff who work in Surrey’s hospitals to join our meeting on Monday 29th April.
With The Joint Carers Team from Surrey County Council and the NHS, our aim is to discuss how carers currently receive and find information in hospital settings – and talk about how this can be improved. Many carers find it an extremely challenging time.
The Joint Carers Team are looking to develop the information provided in hospital settings, especially around hospital processes, including discharge. They will share further updates about how information is currently created, accessed and shared.
When and where
The meeting will take place from 11am to midday, and we will be providing a light lunch from midday to 12.45pm. Venue is Action for Carers, Astolat, Burpham, Guildford GU4 7HL.
Due to capacity of the venue, spaces will be limited and you will need to book. In order to reserve a spot please email [email protected], also stating any dietary requirements if you wish to stay for lunch.
Session for carers
We are also asking Surrey’s unpaid carers to feed into a session. This is taking place on the same day, also in Burpham, between 2-4pm.
If they are not yet registered with us, we’ll ask new carers to sign up in advance.
If you have carers that you feel might wish to attend and contribute their views – following their own experiences, both positive and negative – then please invite them.
