Volunteering within your local community, you will provide help and support at one of our drop-in Hubs for Surrey’s unpaid carers.
This is your opportunity to make a difference by supporting, advising and advocating for adult Carers in South West and East Surrey. Your base will be your home and you will work within the community as well as spending at least one day per week in a carers hub setting. Much of the role will take place during normal office hours, however you will need to be available for planned evening and weekend work to support carers at a time that works for them. This is a full-time role working 36 hours a week for a fixed term period of six months.
It is important that registered carers feel understood by our paid staff and volunteers. Therefore, as part of our recruitment process, we have carer volunteers to join the interview panel and ask specific questions from a carer perspective. This helps us recruit the right person into the right role, with qualities that are important to carers. We are looking for volunteers to support the interview process.
Our young carers team deliver fun and issue-based activities to children and young people across Surrey. These include youth groups, visits to activity centres, bowling alleys, climbing centres, sports centres and schools. We are looking for enthusiastic sessional youth workers to support these activities. You will enjoy working in a variety of settings and participating in a wide range of activities from kayaking to building go karts.
