Committed to supporting ALL Surrey's carers

There has been significant press coverage in recent weeks around the Black Lives Matters Movement. 

Action for Carers Surrey, as Surrey’s carers’ charity, want to make clear that we find any type of discrimination abhorrent and that we are committed to supporting ALL Surrey’s carers.

We work to ensure all Surrey’s diverse communities are aware of how we can help them, and that we deliver services that feel welcoming, appropriate and beneficial to all. Our values reflect our approach, including ‘embracing differences’, ‘communicating sensitively’ and ‘treating everyone with dignity and understanding’.

We are part of the Surrey Carers Equality Group, working together to ensure that we reach and support all minority ethnic groups. We recognise that different communities can have different and additional challenges in regards to caring. We work to address and support that in many ways, from our recruitment and staff training, through to specific information (e.g. on our website) and events.
