Michelle Harper
As the saying goes ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ and the truth is my 16 years at Surrey Young Carers has flown by.
My background is in adults with disabilities and youth and community work, gathering a range of experiences in residential setting, working in Northern Ireland and locally in Surrey as a detached youth worker. Since 2003 when I joined Surrey Young Carers, the service has grown substantially, from the number of young carers and young adult carers being identified to the number of front line staff working tirelessly to support them. My team are passionate and dedicated to ensure all professionals understand and commit to their responsibilities towards young carers and young adult carers.
We want all the children and young people we support to have the same opportunities as their peers and strive to achieve their dreams and goals, alongside their caring role.
